What does more water mean for your home?
For irrigation: An irrigation system can use up to half of your water supply. A larger well keeps more water on hand for inside and outside your home.
For body and bath: A larger well provides the water resources a growing family needs for everyday hygiene. More than 75% of daily water use takes place in the bathroom. Each person in your home uses more than 60 gallons of water a day. The shower is one of the biggest consumers of water in your home, using anywhere from 2.5 gallons to 7 gallons per minute.
For laundry: Your washing machine uses from 30 to 50 gallons per load. A larger well helps you avoid revolving your household chores around your water supply.
Every drop is precious: A slow steady drip from a leak can use 75 gallons of water per week. A fast drip uses up to 200 gallons.
Q: Why can’t a larger tank replace a larger well? A: An upgraded tank only provides an additional 10 gallons of water, whereas a 500 foot well with a larger diameter will provide an additional several hundred gallons of water.
What happens underground to bring you fresh water
• First, we drill through boulders, sand, gravel, clay, hardpan, and silt that filter water through the earth. • Once we reach solid bedrock, we drill at least ten feet further to ensure a good casing seal. Casing is the steel pipe that provides structure and protection for the well. • Next, the casing is sealed in the bedrock. This is the most important step to protect your well from contamination. • Once the casing is set, drilling continues into bedrock until we reach water in the desired volume. • When drilling is complete, we promptly install a submersible pump system sized for the volume of water demanded by the customer. • The pump, submerged deep into the well, is connected to a receiving tank and pressure controller. Set up in the basement, the pump and controller assembly provides consistent flow and pressure to the home, lawn, barn, or business.
